Hey All,
Hopefully you're all having a good summer, and aren't suffering too much from being back behind your desks. If you are, we have a solution for you - the OpenMAMA Steering Committee and Advisory Group have spent the past few weeks discussing the roadmap for
the project, and have decided that the best thing to do would be to get together in person and have a bit of a face to face chat. The goal is to take a look at the items we think are top priority and start looking at how they can be designed and implemented,
and really knock through some of the more challenging discussions up front.
Since it's the community who drive these things along a lot of the time, we figured we'd open up the meetings to everyone who's interested. The events are going to be held somewhere in central London, the first this Thursday 3rd September, and the second on
Thursday 24th. The agenda as it stands is as follows:
Agenda:
Dynamic Bridge Loading:
Discussion and design of a mechanism to allow OpenMAMA users to load any compatible payload or transport bridge at runtime without any previous knowledge or explicit code changes to OpenMAMA.
- Use case and requirements discussion and capture (everyone)
- Current work/proposed solution overview (Glenn)
- Design discussion (everyone)
- Work items and owners (everyone)
— Break —
Acceptance Test Suites:
Proposal from Tick42 for a suite of tools to enumerate and validate the capabilities of an OpenMAMA bridge. The primary purpose will be to examine the context of the proposal, agree on whether it serves a purpose in terms of use cases and whether the detailed
list is complete.
- Brief introduction and overview (Tom)
- Discussion of use cases (everyone)
- Review proposal (everyone)
- Review capabilities list (everyone)
— Break —
Pluggable / Generic Entitlements / Entitlements API:
Discussion and design of a mechanism to allow OpenMAMA to leverage any entitlements platform without any previous knowledge or explicit code changes to OpenMAMA.
- Use case and requirements discussion and capture (everyone)
- Current work/proposed solution overview (Glenn)
- Design discussion (everyone)
- Work items and owners (everyone)
Obviously we know it won't suit everyone, but anyone who is available it'd be great to see you there. For those who can't attend, we'll publish some details of the discussion and a more concrete roadmap after.
Cheers,
The OpenMAMA Steering Committee and Advisory Group
